Andrea Dezsö: Graphic HaHa
Can you remember something that really made you laugh when you were a kid?
I loved my stepfather’s jokes of Lenin, the Radio of Jerevan, and communism. He remembered hundreds of jokes and told them with great gusto. They were all the more hilarious as they poked fun of sacred ideas and personalities. I was allowed to listen to them at home but not to repeat them to others. And if someone asked me outside of our home if I was familiar with jokes that were critical of our regime, I had to pretend I was not.
Did you cherish any grandiose dreams?
I remember once putting aside my dream to become an artist for wanting to become a policewoman. I found the uniform and especially the long leather boots very chic.
